In the beginning:
Jesus Sanctuary is one of the over twenty parishes established along side City of David heralding the scattering of Apapa Parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in September 1997.
Sent out from Freedom Hall along with Pastor Sola Balogun, the Parish Pastor at that time were over twenty workers some of whom have grown to become Parish Pastors, Area Pastors and even Zonal Pastors:
The Church Started at the Beaconsfield Nursery School, a subsidiary of Redeemer’s International School, setup by Apapa Parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, located at Adisa Bashua Street, Surulere, Lagos. The church remained in this location for a period of about 8 months. Thereafter, it relocated to 2 Mercy Eneli Street, within the same vicinity but more strategically located within Surulere. This was in April 1998.
It is noteworthy to mention that the construction work to enable the relocation to Mercy Eneli Street from Adisa Bashua was championed by Brother Rotimi Anthonio and Daddy Aderemi (of blessed memory). The church remained in this location for about 5 years before finally relocating to its current Main Auditorium just 2 blocks away to the main street of 37 Alhaji Masha Road, Surulere, very strategically located.
Though the final relocation to Alhaji Masha took place in 2003, construction work started in year 2000.
In 1998 Jesus sanctuary birthed its first Parish named Covenant Centre in Victoria Island Lagos. It was Pastored by Deacon Bode Ososami who was posted out along with some workers. His exit from Jesus Sanctuary made room for Deacon Rotimi Anthonio to become the Assistant to the Parish/Area Pastor.
Other parishes birthed by Jesus sanctuary include Eagle’s Wings Parish pastured by George Inyang-Ette, who later left to pursue personal projects that took him away for extended periods from the work. Cross Over Parish Pastored by Dele Oke and House of Transformation, Pastored by Femi Olumide were also birthed by Jesus Sanctuary.
The Pastor in Charge was ordained a full pastor in 1998 and appointed Provincial Pastor in Charge of Lagos Province 15 in 2004. She was posted out to head RCCG Lagos Province 34 as the Pastor in-Charge of Province at Grace Tabernacle (along Ikorodu Road, Lagos) in September 2010.
